Exciting news… We just wrapped production on our fifth film, “Deidox | Li”, which takes place in China. Yes, you read that right…

The fifth Deidox film takes place within the underground church in China.

Calling the film shoot “exciting” would be an understatement. The trip was full of ups and downs (and sidesteps) where the Lord took us on a Deidox journey of our own as we discovered the story we felt God wanted us to tell. It’s a bit too early to say more, but rest assured that further details will be coming in the next few months. We’re editing now, but post production on this film may take a bit longer because of sensitivities and security concerns. That being said, we’re hoping to release “Deidox | Li” in late September or early October.

For now, shoot up a prayer for us as we’re editing, and enjoy this Chinese sign.

Beyond Deidox – Your support helps change lives

Tuesday, July 14th, 2009

Our vision for Deidox is to not only challenge and inspire people with the stories told, but to also highlight and support organizations that are demonstrating God’s love on a daily basis.

For each Deidox story, we have identified a non-profit organization that compliments the themes and issues raised in the short film. One dollar of each download over $2.98 is then provided to that non-profit organization to help them accomplish their mission.

For example, part of the proceeds from Deidox|Deon goes to support the work of Union Rescue Mission in downtown Los Angeles.

Established in 1891, URM is one of the largest rescue missions of its kind in the United States and the oldest in Los Angeles. They provide a comprehensive array of emergency and long-term services to their guests, including: food, shelter, clothing, medical and dental care, recovery programs, transitional housing, legal assistance, education, counseling, and job training to needy men, women, children, and families.

Thank you so much for your continued support of Deidox!

Humbled by Eugene Cho

One of our favorite bloggers, Eugene Cho, recently wrote a humbling review of Deidox.  Ever since personally meeting Eugene, we’ve been big fans of his blog.  Eugene is the founding and lead pastor of Quest Church in Seattle.  He is considered one of the most prominent bloggers on issues of Justice, Faith, and Christianity.  If these are topics of interest to you, then we highly recommend his blog.

Eugene and his wife, Minhee, recently co-founded One Day’s Wages,  a 501(c)(3) organization and grassroots movement that encourages millions of people to simply give their “One Day’s Wages” to fight extreme global poverty.  100% of public donations go directly to fund grants, projects, & organizations that are doing amazing work amongst the poorest of the poor.

We are always encouraged to hear how our films are being used by pastors, church leaders and invidividuals.  It is our hope that God is continually revealed through the lives of individuals whose stories we tell.  Please let us know how Deidox has been used by your church, small group or in any other situation.  Thanks to all for your continued support!

Have you heard of Idea Camp? It’s coming to D.C.

ideacamp

Back in February the team from Deidox had the opportunity to participate in an un-conference called The Idea Camp.  It was a  gathering of some of the most innovative and creative leaders from around the country for the purpose of  sharing ideas, intentional networking, and collaborating on idea-making.

The best part about it was that it was FREE!  And in this case, free is full of value.  In fact, I would argue it provided more information and results than most conferences that charge $200 and up to attend.  The conference was more about the participants than any one keynote  speaker. (If you’ve been following our Deidox story you know that hearing from the “participants” is something we’re passionate about.)

Anyway, it was a great experience and we were thrilled to hear they are doing another Idea Camp in Washington, D.C.  The focus of the conversation and networking will be around the topics of compassion and justice.

Our team is planning on attending this conference and we would encourage everyone on the east coast to do the same!  Click here to find out more information.  You can also learn more at http://www.theideacamp.com/

Hope to see you there!
