Our 10 Favorite Documentaries – Brent’s Version (part 2)

Yesterday we released Deidox Producer Dave Mahanes’ top 10 favorite documentaries.  Now we bring you Director Brent Gudgel’s favorites.  He had a hard time coming up with only 10.  These are in no particular order.

10. Audience of One

9. Harlan County, USA

8. Manda Bala

7. Fog of War

6. Lake of Fire

5. King of Kong

4. Endless Summer 2

3. Hoop Dreams

2. Hell House

1. American High*

* Yes, “American High” was a doc tv miniseries (on PBS), but it was hugely influential in awakening me to the power of documentary storytelling.

Other fine documentaries worth watching:

American Teen

Spellbound

Grizzly Man

Baraka

The Up Series

Iraq in Fragments

Planet Earth

Dust to Glory
